Our location in Tipp City, OH currently has an opportunity for a Calibration Technician - Night Shift. Tipp City, Ohio, is one of six Abbott nutrition manufacturing plants in the U.S., with about half of its products exported around the world. This role works from 6:30pm - 6:30am on a 2/2/3 rotation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for calibration of all instruments and gages in Tipp City. Provide support to all departments and is responsible for direct support to Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Engineering.

  • Responsible for performing plant calibrations, plant automation and building facilities

  • Plan and execute all periodic and demand instrument, equipment and calibrations

  • Coordinate and document calibrations performed by outside calibration service providers

  • Work with Engineering, QA and manufacturing departments on selection of new instruments/measuring equipment

  • Assure that all instruments are properly classified and have calibration service plans that are in alignment with Abbott calibration policies

  • Use of power tools and shop tools

  • Operate industrial and production equipment

  • Accountable for the proper coordination and file management for several regulatory systems.  Errors may result in lost or incomplete documentation, leading to regulatory actions and/or observations

  • Maintain proper handling of calibration equipment

  • Responsible for calibration of all instruments and gages in Tipp City

  • Must follow FDA/QSR, Corporate regulatory requirements and adhere to SOP's.  Not following procedures could cause product recall and or plant shutdown

  • Adhere to stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

  • Maintain good working relations with all in-house customers

  • Work in an ISO cleanroom and in a industrial environment with persistent background noise (i.e. various pump alarms, air hoses and constant production activity)

Education and Experience You'll Bring:

Required:

  • Associate degree in Electronics or four (4) years related experience in repair of medical equipment or consumer electronic equipment 

  • Minimum 2 years' prior experience working with industrial and/or laboratory instrumentation

  • Able to work a flexible schedule

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a regulatory environment

  • High degree of technical expertise and familiarization with the Abbott processes

  • Previous calibration experience with flow, pressure, temperature and conductivity instruments

  • Knowledge of RS Logix 5000 troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of plant controls such as PID's and 4-20 mA loops

  • Knowledge of plant networks such as Devicenet and Pofibus PA

  • Working knowledge of Maximo

  • High level of mechanical aptitude

  • Good communication skills, analytical problem solving skills and good interpersonal relationship skills

  • Able to work independently and as a team

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
