Babcock International The Learning Designer role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area. The role The difference our new Learning Designer will make As a Learning Designer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Our purpose as an organisation is to create a safe and secure world, together, and within the Capability Development team we are focused on the impact great learning can have to improve productivity, safety performance, and our employees experience of their work. Day to day you'll carry out a mix of content witing or copywriting by using existing training and quick guide documentation and convert these in to high quality learning content. This role provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home. Essential experience You will need a recognised qualification in Learning & Development (L3 or above) or willingness to learn or equivalent experience. You will also need the following: Demonstrable experience writing engaging and persuasive content (learning or otherwise) to a deadline. Experience writing for multimedia use, i.e. video, or for rapid content development tools (e.g. Articulate Rise). Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office. Excellent communications and relationship building ability. Understanding of effective content planning and storyboarding techniques. Knowledge of and evidence of application of instructional design theory and principles, adult learning theory, neuroscience and L&D approaches (e.g. the ADDIE cycle, Gagné's Conditions of Learning, Kaufman's Levels of evaluation).Lastly, you will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
