Working Hours - Part Time

Working Days - Monday to Friday

Location - Inspire Neurocare, Worcester

Summary of the role:

To ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist neuro psychology service to residents at Inspire Neurocare. To assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat residents with neurological injury or disorder and work as a member of the Inspire team.

Primary Responsibilites:

To conduct a range of neuro psychological assessments and evaluations, implement relevant interventions and develop rehabilitation programmes. To lead on assessing the impact of cognitive, emotional and behavioural functioning and provide guidance to the rest of the team regarding management plans.

To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning

To provide specialist Neuro-psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to residents diagnosis and treatment plans, particularly through active participation in team meetings and joint working opportunities.

To contribute to goal planning and completion of outcome measures and provide regular reports to provide evidence of any changes is resident s psychological status.

To undertake risk assessments relating to cognition and behaviour and devise guidelines/management plan for the rest of the team to follow.

Communicate sensitive and challenging information to residents, their relatives, their support workers/carers and friends, and manage adverse reactions safely. To utilise skills in order to communicate effectively where cognitive difficulties, poor insight, behavioural problems and non-engagement with services can present a major challenge.

To provide regular guidance and supervision for the Assistant Psychologist who will be providing psychologically based treatment to residents.

To support other members of the clinical and care team and provide training to improve understanding of the functioning of the brain and how all members can effectively and safely support residents in relation to their psychological, cognitive and behavioural needs.

To lead on and participate in undertaking and recording complex capacity assessments and best interest

meetings. Using creativity and flexibility to engage residents and their families and support systems in the assessment and treatment processes.


Recognised degree accredited by British Psychology Society

Min 2 years of relevant clinical work experience
