DESCRIPTION

About the Position

This position will provide direct clinical services related to sexually transmitted infections (STI) and immunizations. -Nurse practitioner (NP) will provide evidence-based assessments, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of STIs.

In addition, NP will provide in clinic treatment of STIs to both, patient and partner.
  • NP will provide screening services for a wide range of STIs, including wet mounts.
  • NP will provide education on sexual and reproductive health and STI prevention.
  • NP will be proficient in EHR documentation
  • NP will provide support to nurses providing immunizations.
  • NP will be an integral part of an STI care team that implements educational and sexual health strategies
About the Division

The Lane County Public Health (LCPH) Communicable Disease section serves to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases through investigation, providing immunizations, education and treatment.

Schedule: This position will work 10 hours a week, between the hours of Monday Friday; 8:00am 5:00pm.

This position is budgeted to work 1,040 hours between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.

QUALIFICATIONS

Training:

Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program specific to the expanded specialty role/category for which application is made.

The scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner is incorporated into nine different specialty categories which include: Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP); Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM); College Health Nurse Practitioner (CHNP); Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (GNP); Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP); Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP); Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); and Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP).

Experience:

One year of responsible nurse practitioner experience.

An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Special Requirements:
  • Must possess State of Oregon Registered Nurse License, at the time of appointment.
  • Must possess a current certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon, in the specified specialty role/category.
Some positions may also require, at the time of appointment:
  • Certificate granting full prescription authority
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license at time of application and a valid Oregon Driver's License by the time of appointment if required to drive.
  • Certification from a recognized national certification body.
  • CPR/BLS.
