Registered Children s Home Manager Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum Location: Milton Keynes Hours: 40 hours per week, permanent Are you a Registered Children s Home Manager looking for a new adventure? Do you feel as though you have all the responsibility without any decision making? Hargate Healthcare are working with a children s home in Milton Keynes. The service will be a brand-new home so there is an opportunity to have real input on how the home will support it s young people. The service will be home to children with learning disabilities and complex support needs including Autism, Epilepsy and EBD. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the individual children s needs to help them reach their hopes and aspirations through a person-centred approach. As a Registered Manager you would be responsible for managing all aspects of the day to day running of the home. Ensuring the service is fully compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly the Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015). You will be expected to provide high quality emotional and physical care and suitable activities for the 4 young people who reside at the home. Registered Manager responsibilities: To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff within the Home, and other agencies, to meet the needs of young people. To provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, to enable the objectives of the Home to be achieved. To take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements; to take a proactive role in securing improvements in the quality of services provided by the Home. To have line management responsibilities for the staff team, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate induction, supervision, and appraisals. To ensure that staff training and individual and team developmental needs are identified and met and to assist in training as required. To ensure that effective financial budgets, control, administration, and records comply with expectations and procedures. Registered Manager requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare - or be working towards it. (Candidates with the Level 3/4 Diploma in Children s Residential Childcare may be considered if they have extensive deputy managerial experience and are committed to working towards the Level 5.) Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development. Experience of understanding and compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly the Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
