Senior Project Manager - Utilities PMO Salary: - £700 - £750 per day - OUTSIDE IR35

Working for a consultancy leading a transformation programme within the Utilities sector until March 2023.

Location: - Hybrid working - Project location Manchester 2x days per week Home based 3x days per week

(These are not set days as you will be working around the client's diary and expectation on site)

Start date: - ASAP (2 week notice maximum will be considered)

Duration: - 6 month

Role Description

The Resolute Group is looking for an experienced PMO Senior Project Manager to take the lead on a transformation programme for a consultancy working in the Utility sector. Controlling a small project team as well as the management of various stakeholders involved across the programme is based on the Capex & Projects teams.

The project is a mix of merging internal teams through an organisational transformation, then linked with the digital processes and systems to improve the efficiency of the team. This role is to focus on driving the programme forward within the project delivery teams. Ensuring the commitments are being met, issues are reported and creating reports to the internal and external stakeholders with programme updates.

With specialists in place handling the data and hands-on delivery, this role needs a Utility project manager that can focus on the stakeholders and the programme. Like with any transformation programme it's never a simple process with the project also undergoing modifications as other issues are uncovered or as the client make alterations. You need to have the leadership capabilities supported by proven PMO project experience in managing a change project through.

Although you have a small team supporting the documentation of the new process's, the interface of implementing the new processes into the existing systems and supporting the programme delivery. You may still need to help deliver pieces of work as required by the client. Ensuring the milestones are being achieved, getting the internal teams brought into the process and supporting documentation for the organisational change.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree qualified or supporting professional qualification such as an MBA would be ideal due to the various levels of stakeholder you will be working with.
  • Utilities experience - Understanding how projects are delivered from a framework aspect so a number of programmes over a 5-year period.
